Joshua Green, Founder and Owner

Joshua's journey into dog training began while he was incarcerated, where he was given the opportunity to work with behavior dogs from a local animal shelter. That experience sparked a passion that ultimately changed the course of his life. Working with dogs that many people considered "too difficult" taught him the value of patience, consistency, and seeing the potential in every dog.

After returning home, Joshua continued building his experience by working at a local animal shelter, where he helped behavior dogs develop the skills they needed to become adoptable. Even after leaving the shelter, his commitment to helping misunderstood dogs never stopped. He volunteered countless hours walking, enriching, and advocating for dogs that needed someone willing to invest in them.

That passion eventually led to the creation of BarkSide. Joshua founded BarkSide with the belief that every dog deserves to be understood, and every owner deserves the knowledge and confidence to build a stronger relationship with their dog. He specializes in aggression and reactivity cases, helping families navigate challenging behaviors with compassion, structure, and practical training.

Beyond working with clients, Joshua is deeply committed to supporting local rescue organizations by assisting foster families and shelter dogs, giving more dogs the opportunity to find successful, lasting homes. His mission is simple: to help people better understand their dogs, strengthen the bond they share, and create positive, lasting change for both ends of the leash.

Seeing the patience, dedication, and understanding he brought to every dog inspired her and reinforced the belief that every dog deserves the opportunity to succeed. That shared passion for helping animals ultimately led them to build BarkSide together.
